Julie

Julie trained her first dog, a collie, with SPOTC while attending Texas Tech in 1991. Twenty-five years later she returned to Lubbock, and to SPOTC, where she began assisting with classes in 2016. She has taught Puppy, Beyond Basics, Canine Good Citizen, and Foundations of Advanced Training classes. She is currently serving on the board and as the SPOTC Training Coordinator.

Julie has two Australian Shepherds and a Bohemian Shepherd that she shows in Agility, Conformation, FastCAT, Obedience, Rally, and Scent Work. She has also trained service dogs through Canine Companions.

Her favorite part of dog training is that moment when a dog suddenly understands and confidently executes a new task. She is passionate to help others experience the daily comfort and sense of teamwork she enjoys with her dogs.

“There’s something very fulfilling about successfully communicating with your dog to accomplish a task, together.”
