Ashlynn

Ashlynn began taking classes at SPOTC in 2019, and in 2022 she became involved with helping out at Household Manners classes. She received Assistant Trainer of the Year in 2023 and expanded her training repertoire to include Puppy Class and Beyond Basics.

Ashlynn has a black Labrador Retriever named Apollo that competes in Obedience and Rally. Apollo has achieved his Companion Dog and Rally Excellent titles and was invited to compete in the AKC Obedience Nationals in Orlando, Florida in 2023. Ashlynn has fostered several dogs, including some with behavioral issues, and is currently raising a future service puppy for Canine Companions.

“My favorite part of training is when a dog can independently chain a task like implied sit when heeling, sending to a bed, or downing with a single command. It’s a simple to complex behavior that can be added into any context. Seeing it for the first time in a dog is a really nice moment.”
